Specialty Areas & Populations
Specialty Populations
My therapy specialty populations stem from my extensive experience in working with a wide diversity of college, graduate and professional school students, often coping with identity concerns and managing difficult life transitions. Individuals and groups who often seek out Dr. Kim as a particularly good fit for therapy are:
- Queer and Trans people (LGBTQIA+)
- Racial/ethnic minoritized individuals
- Transnational people and Third Culture Kids (TCK)
- Asian/Asian American and mixed race people
- People with Latin American backgrounds
- High achieving individuals
- Higher education professional staff or faculty
- People in helping professions including therapists
- People living with Neurodivergence
- People in non-monogamous and/or nontraditional relationships
- People coping with cultural adaptation, immigration, and/or experiences of discrimination

Clinician Support
In addition, my professional background allows me to bring expertise and deep empathy into supporting mental health clinicians, as well as people in advocacy, social services, and medical professions. My work in this area is strengthened by my in-depth understanding of individual, interpersonal, and systemic demands and complexities in these roles.

Languages
I provide individual and couples therapy in English and Spanish. I can understand Korean well but do not speak it fluently, thus I may be of better service for bilingual Korean-English speakers who can mix both languages. Beyond language, I bring in-depth cultural knowledge about Korean and Latinx immigrant families.
